On September 25, DICP has signed a cooperation agreement with the Lummus Co. of the United States for the marketing and promoting of the DMTO Process of DICP in the whole world. Attending the signing ceremony were Mr. LIU Yan, Assistant to the Mayor of the Dalian City, Mr. LIU Xiaoying, Director of Science & Technology Bureau of the Dalian City, and Mr. TIAN Tao, Vice-Director of Development & Transformation Commission of the Dalian City. Prof. ZHANG Tao, Director of DICP, gave an address at the beginning of the ceremony, and both Prof. LIU Zhongmin, Vice-Director of DICP, and Mr. Helion H. Sardina of the Lummus Co. talked on behalf of their own party after the signing of the agreement.
The DMTO (DICP methanol to olefins) Process is a technology developed by DICP over the last twenty years for the conversion of methanol to lower olefins. It is regarded as one of the worldly advanced processes in coal chemical engineering for the transformation of coal resources into valuable chemical feed stocks. The Lummus Co., a subsidiary company of the CB&I Group, is an international contractor for the construction and management of advanced technologies, with a history of nearly one hundred years. It has accomplished more than 6200 large scale projects in about 70 countries. The signing of this cooperation agreement is expected to help promoting extensively the licensing and commercializing of the DMTO Process all over the world.
